Zoom Festival Pattaya 2012
International superstars to play at Thailand’s biggest electronic music and dance event
Following the disappointing postponement of the Pattaya International Music Festival last week (the event is now scheduled for 27 April), music fans will be relieved to hear that Zoom Festival Pattaya 2012 will be going ahead next weekend. The event is billed as nothing less than ‘Thailand’s biggest electronic music and dance festival’ and the city is sure to see an influx of fans from across Thailand and the world.

The line-up comprises not just leading Thai DJs, but also international artists and superstars that are sure to rock the city crazy. Zoom Festival Pattaya 2012 is a two day event on the 30 and 31 of March. On both days, the event kicks off at 5pm and is sure to go on until late into the night. The event has become an established part of the Pattaya annual calendar; Zoom started in 2010 and has got bigger and better every year. The event will take place on the beach at Bali Hai Oier and costs just 200 baht for entry. Zoom 2012 promises to be the best ever with over 50 DJ’s playing on three purpose build stages – which will be showcasing a state of the art light show to accompany the dance vibes. The festival will feature a international talent including Taboo, from the supergroup the Black Eyed Peas, who will headline the festival.

Also appearing high on the bill is DJ Domination, who last year scooped the ‘World Video DJ of the Year’ and ‘Best DJ in Asia’ awards at the World Top DJ Awards held in December. Other leading international DJs playing at Zoom are, London’s DJ Slick, Germany’s Teddy O and Eddie Pay, Holland’s Lennox Frederique and many others. {timg title:=”DJ Taboo of The Black Eyes Peas” thumb:=”images/stories/news/blog/taboo_small.jpg” img:=”images/stories/news/blog/taboo.jpg” gal:=”gallery-content”} Home grown talent will certainly not be lacking either; the Thai talent will be led by heartthrob Dome Pakorn Lam and the internationally renowned Monton Jira. Zoom Festival Pattaya 2012 also hopes to unearth new Thai DJ talent with a competition sponsored by the Thailand Department of Intellectual Properties. The entrants are sure to be inspired by appearing on the same bill as superstar performers. Zoom Festival Pattaya 2012 is being organised jointly by Pattaya City, the Tourist Authority of Thailand and the Department of Intellectual Properties. The line-up of sponsors and media partners highlights what a major event the festival has become in just a few short years. The support that the event has generated and the quality of the international and Thai stars appearing at the festival highlight another step forward in Pattaya’s goal of becoming a major Asian metropolis.
