Cultured residents of Pattaya who are unfortunate enough not to have discovered the excellent Silverlake Vineyard can enlighten themselves in October when Silverlake hosts a world class evening of jazz. Mediterranean Jazz Night at Silverlake Vineyard will combine fine dining in the wonderfully ambient setting with truly outstanding musical entertainment provided by the feted Luca Ciarla Quartet. The evening will take place on Wednesday 24th October.

The quartet, Luca Ciarla, Vince Abbracciante, Nicola Di Camillo and Francesco Savoretti, has been playing to worldwide audiences for over a decade. The musicians receive regular praise for their exciting and original blend of Mediterranean jazz, infused with the creativity and passion of gypsy influence. The quartet regularly tour Europe, the US and Asia wowing cultured audiences with their unique and exciting music.

Luca Ciarla is a violin virtuoso described by a leading German commentator as a ‘jazz architect’ and described by the Sydney Morning Herald as producing ‘glorious sound’. He is recognised in the musical world as one of the most innovative violinists on the scene today.

Vince Abbracciante is from an Italian family of renowned accordion players who has been long established on the Italian jazz scene playing with some of the biggest names in the industry. Nicola Di Camillo plays bass and double bass and has toured the world with his music. He is currently also collaborating on a CD projects with another quartet, Cuarteto del Angel. The final member of the foursome is the versatile and innovative percussionist Francesco Savoretti, renowned for his musical work in film and theatre, as well as being a regular at international music festivals.

To have enticed such a talented ensemble to play in Pattaya is a real coup for Silverlake, which has attracted a reputation as setting the standard for cultured events in Pattaya over the past couple of years. The vineyard was the inspiration of a former Thai actress and singer who wanted to replicate the atmosphere she discovered in wineries in the United States; not just grow grapes, but also foster a vibrant social scene.

The rows of vines at Silverlake are set in spectacularly scenic countryside complete with a lake where visitors can enjoy long romantic walks. Silverlake has worked hard at providing attractions for visitors and has an ATV trail, elephant rides, horse drawn carriages or, for those wanting a more active experience, bicycles.

Back to the Mediterranean Jazz evening; it takes place on Wednesday 24th October at 6.30pm with 30 minutes of welcome drinks before dinner. The four-course meal features sophisticated southern European cuisine including a choice of salads, soup, a main course of lamb shank or halibut and a delicious nougat semifreddo tartufo with wild berries compote. As one would expect from a vineyard, there will also be a range of excellent wines.
